first stitch: knit - in, around, through, off

second stitch: in, around, through, separate needle tips, over & off

in - insert your needle in the front of the stitch, approaching from the left side

around - bring the yarn around the tip of your needle, wrapping from back to front

through - bring the tip of your righthand needle under the lefthand needle and through the little hole

separate needle tips - pull the tips of your needles apart to allow some yarn to feed between the two stitches. this keeps your co from being too tight.

over & off - lift the second stitch over the first stitch using your lefthand needle and off the righthand needle
